September Tournament

I have some unfortunate news. My satellite provider (dish network which I will now call shit network) has decided to move their TVJAPAN station to another satellite. In order for me to get the sumo tournaments I will have to pay $60 to get an additional dish installed. I am currently unemployed and refuse to pay for something that it their responsibility to provide without charge. I will not waste $60 to get an additional satellite dish because they decided to switch the station to a non standard satellite. As a result I have refunded all donations sent to me and will discontinue posting sumo tournaments. Day 12-15 Status + Future releases

News:

The harddrive on my DVR went bad starting on day 12. The whole day was recorded but the corrupt harddrive made it impossible to full transfer the matches. Originally I thought it was just a one time glitch but tech support told me the harddrive was going bad and needed to be replaced. Day 14 recorded fine but during the transfer the harddrive totally died I lost all the recordings including the match highlights.

Match Highlights:

Originally I said I would post the highlights broadcast but due to my slow upload speed and spotty internet service it took me more then 24 hours of constant uploading to just post 1 day. Occasionally the DDL uploads would stop and have to be restarted because of my internet going down. This further increases upload time and unfortunetly impacted my performance to release the bouts in a timely manner. Therefore I have decided that starting with the September basho I will be posting the 2hour english broadcast ONLY on TPB without any DDL links and instead upload the Japanese highlights show (24 minutes) for DDL. The size for the DDL with be around 250megs (all 15 days fit on 1 DVD). I know people want to have direct download links of the english version and I understand so I will upload them (2 per day) after I have posted all 15 days on TPB. I appologize to people who are hoping to get DDL links but because of my upload limitations and spotty ISP it makes it difficult to upload about 2-3GB/day (which is what I average from seeding and uploading to DDL sites). If you have donated because I promised you DDL links for the tournaments please email me shikigami_sumo@hushmail.com and I will gladly refund your donations.

Summary:

• The Harddrive on the DVR went bad and will be replaced before the next basho
• DDL links for the 2 hours english broadcast will be posted after the 15th day of the tournament.
• Direct Download Links for the basho will be for the 24 minute highlights show (which has japanese audio and every single match of the day) with links to the 2 hour english version after the 15th day of the tournament.
• I was unable to capture days 12-15 due to the corrupt HD but links have been posted on TPB.

Donations update:

Thank you so much for all the people who have donated. I can assure you 100% of the donations are going to pay for purchasing the sumo broadcast and I can confirm that thru the kindness of the sumo fans who donated I will be able to provide everyone with the sumo tournaments until the end of this year! /rejoice

Final Thoughts:

Again I appologize to everyone, but unfortunetly there is absolutely nothing I can do about days 12-15. I know people want consistant uploads of all 15 days and I have the infrustructure in place to accomplish this but the DVR issue was a very unfortunate event.

I have only uploaded 2 sumo tournaments and this has been a new experience for me but I believe I have come up with a system that will allow me to upload the daily matches to TPB within 24 hours of the end of the broadcast. The next tournament should be my first complete 15 day release assuming no unforseen complications. Thanks to everyone who has donated and supported my new venture into providing sumo fans with the addiction that is sumo.

My DVR's was having technical issues the last 2 days and was unable to record Day 12 and 13. A friend will post days 12 and 13 on TPB only and unfortunetly there will be no DDL for them. I will update you on the status of day 14 tomorrow.

Day 04 and Day 05 Status Update

I was out of the house yesterday so I didn't get a chance to encode the matches. I will release day 04 and day 05 at the same time within the next 24 hours. Sorry for the delay but had a personal matter to take care off.

Future Releases

One of the generous people who donated asked me to upload the daily match highlights. Starting tomorrow I will be releasing the daily match highlights (which is only avaliable in japanese audio) for DDL ONLY. I will not be uploading these releases to any torrent site so you will have to come to this blog to get them.
